If accurate, the income

If accurate, the income numbers are interesting. More evidence of men underperforming or is it the age demographic? Or maybe higher earners pay for porn because it's relatively cheap.

To put that data in context,

To put that data in context, 5% of US men have income > $100,000, so it is possible that the 2%> $150,000 is in line with the population at large.

However, only 16% of men in the general population fall into that $25k-$50k category,in contrast to the 50% of the population described in the article.

My guess is that the porn viewing population skews younger, and may include an above-average population of high school and college students. They have more time to spare, and possibly greater interest, than men of working age who are in full time employment.

Anyway, it's great to read an article like this when I am no longer using. I don't care how many terabytes of data these sites hold, it's not for me !

Isn't the point that these

Isn't the point that these are major content players relative to what the public sees as large players?

Perhaps the most pathetic part is the massive waste of humanity and resources. Just imagine all that bonding, learning, creative, health, etc. time and the quantity of knowledge that could be moving around the world instead. We're paying too high a price for this "free" porn.

Porn may be bigger than those sites above it if the numbers included all the searching for porn, image/video search, quasi-porn on search provider video sites, porn-esque activity on facebook, etc.

The income stat is

The income stat is interesting, and maybe it's true that a lot of viewers are kids and college students, however, I think everyone notices an increase in mental sharpness after quitting. I'm not saying that quitting porn will net you 6 figures, but maybe it says something about the drive of frequent porn users. Typically, although not always, more drive=harder working=maybe more education and more money.

Although I just reread iwillrecovers post and yea that makes a lot of sense too.

It's quite amazing that porn

It's quite amazing that porn has become a mainstream entertainment form in recent years, and even more amazing that criticism of porn has become a heretical, non-mainstream position. Yet, there is very little sober analysis of porn and its effects on porn-addicts. This site is helping to change that.
