Sounds like a potential

Sounds like a potential disaster for the publisher. Maybe an AG will have guts to look into this, similarly to what eventually happened in regard to lime disease. A journal doesn't make the content good.

Journals have become a bad joke

across much of academia. Publishers will publish anything, and young professors are desperate to get "credits" anywhere. It's "publish or perish." Some publishers even charge huge fees of the academics who want to publish with them. Merit of content is increasingly irrelevant. Quite a mess, and this is happening all over  - not just in the sexology field.

I wonder why more haven't

I wonder why more haven't switched to other options: blogs, self-publishing, small publishing collectives, etc. If the content is good, readers will come. Publishing isn't the equipment intensive black art it once was.

Thanks!
