Comments: Unlike most studies this one included both controls and former Internet addicts. This study found that those with Internet addiction had different cue-induced activation patterns similar to those with drug addictions. Former Internet addicts pattern of activation was similar to controls, demonstrating that abstinence leads to normalization.

Comments: This LA TV segment came about due to our Psychology Today post, which is linked to under the video. However, the psychiatrist, who is an addiction expert, doesn't get it at all. He attempts to cram porn-induced ED into his "sex addiction" model. The interviewers attempt to steer him to the plight of young guys without sweethearts, but he drops into pat answers.

(Comments: Notice how Nora Volkow had trouble securing funding for brain studies on the obese, because there was "no evidence" of addiction. An epidemic of obese people, unable to control their use, despite negative physical, social and psychological consequences.
Oh, yeah.... that's the definition of addiction. This same empty argument is used today with porn addiction. )
