A few short ideas for you guys

I am only on day 25 and I do not know whether it gets any better after some amount of time, but I can tell you this - I was doing it until I was depressed with or without it and I made my choice to rather be depressed without it. The cravings for me disappeared within 2 weeks of not using social websites and not looking at ANY pictures.

I saw some people asking when the cravings will go away. To answer that... I think that it is pleasurable to have an erection by itself and there is no need to add more stimulation for that pleasure. You should learn to enjoy those cravings when they are there. After all, it means that you are normal.

Another thing is that I personally find it worse to have an emotional imbalance than to have cravings. Feeling depressed/anxious is worse than feeling pleasure, ain't it?

So, the cravings have disappeared for me long time ago, I had several wet dreams and I feel no urge to masturbate. Yet, I am still looking forward to the day when I finally get rid of apathy, depression and all those negative feelings. That's much worse than having a constant erection or need to masturbate.

I've heard a number of guys

report lasting mood improvements around two months, although they tend to have really good days before then.

Are you having any good days yet?

I loved this:

True wisdom.

You seem to have discovered the same thing that I did . . .

You seem to have discovered the same thing that I did, that an erection doesn't require action on your part. If you leave it alone it will live a short little life and then fade away. You don't need to invite erections with porn or other sexually stimulating materials, erections arrive at their own convenience but they rarely stay for long.

Anything that fuels the imagination sexually can have the same effect as porn. Reading sexy personal ads on Craigslist can bring to life all sorts of imaginary encounters and make you horny as heck. Likewise for Facebook. Living in the present, grounded in reality and aware of all that is around you; that . . . is the best tool I have to fight fantasy. Porn, Facebook and much of the entertainment around us pulls you out of reality.

I don't listen to the radio, I play music from an MP3 player. Likewise, I don't watch TV, but I do watch recorded movies and recorded TV shows. The difference is subtle but important. When I control the delivery of the material, I then remain in control of the timing of that delivery. I can pause an MP3 or a Seinfeld episode on DVD, I can't do that with broadcast media. I'm not saying that TV or radio is bad, it most certainly is not bad. What I find problematic is when a person spends so many hours per day watching TV or listening to radio that they no longer control the pace of their life. Commercial advertisements also serve to disrupt the concentration of a viewer.

My point here is merely to show that there are all sorts of things that distract us from the real world and that doesn't help a bit with PMO.
